Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Café Volksgarten, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Linz, Austria. Located at Am Volksgarten 1, this charming café offers a delightful retreat for anyone looking to savor exquisite coffee, delectable cakes, and a serene atmosphere. Whether you're a local or a traveler exploring the area, this café should definitely make it onto your itinerary.

As you step inside, the inviting ambiance envelops you—it's a perfect blend of peaceful decor and friendly service. Patrons rave about the superb service and high standards of cleanliness, making you feel right at home. One satisfied customer, Medina Dobie, admired the "bezaubernde Ambiente" (enchanting atmosphere) that perfectly accompanied her visit, highlighting the friendly demeanor of the staff as a refreshing touch. It's no surprise that many choose this spot to start their day, often with a rich cup of coffee and a slice of their renowned cake.

Speaking of cakes, while one customer noted that the cakes might be "nothing special," others like Stephen Moore rave about the quality and variety offered. The café achieves a harmonious balance between sweetness and flavor—a testament to their dedication to quality. Not only is the coffee delicious, but you also have the option of indulging in delightful pastries that elevate the whole experience. Each sip and bite is a simple pleasure that makes you want to linger just a little while longer.

The location is also a key point of attraction. With its central position and comfortable seating—both indoors and in a lovely outdoor terrace—Café Volksgarten is perfect for enjoying those pleasant afternoons, especially before a theater visit. Kurt Sadjina, who frequently travels from Salzburg just to enjoy the café's offerings, mentions the 'herrliche Sacherwürste' (wonderful Sacher sausages) served with mustard and fresh horseradish as a must-try before any show. With such splendid options at very reasonable prices, it's no wonder that the café is a popular spot for pre-theater gatherings.

For those furry companions, the good news is that dogs are welcome! You can soak in the tranquil vibe while sipping your coffee with your pet by your side. The reviews consistently praise the calm and comfortable atmosphere, making it a fabulous choice for conversations, reflection, or simply enjoying your surroundings without the noise of a typical café.

In summary, if you find yourself in Linz, make sure to pay a visit to Café Volksgarten. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely breakfast, and exquisite cake, or just a break from exploring the city, this café promises an experience that is both delightful and memorable. With its stunning ambiance, welcoming service, and delicious treats, it’s a locale that invites you to return again and again.

Very nice café with good prices and great breakfast. In Summer it's nice to outside

Lovely and serene place for coffee, etc. I love the open spaces coupled with very professional services. And to top it all, really good cakes and coffee. Venue is central and you can also purchase a theater ticket just at the other end

The place and the looks of the cafe, is just amazing. It is comfortable and not too loud. The cake was nothing special but it was okay. The coffee and other drinks are really nice though.
